People trying to pull you down: they call them haters; and they seem to just love to hate.

Are People trying to pull you down?
The next little story is not just for those who cause trouble–the haters, but it’s for everyone, because we all find ourselves in situations where we are forced, threatened, coerced, or fooled into having feelings, and considering actions that we don’t like.
Perhaps haters and stressful situations generate haters if they are not good at problem solving. Perhaps haters try and generate more haters. It’s not a good idea to become part of that cycle, it’s better to become a problem solver instead. More on this later.

This is another concept by a guy called Jacque Fresco who is considered to be a “Futurist.” The Venus Project reflects the culmination of Mr. Fresco’s life work, and he still works with all the people involved in The Venus Project: http://www.thevenusproject.com/.
Jacque Fresco has been known to say that if he got hold of all the soldiers in the world he would stop training them to be killing machines and would instead re-train them to be problem solvers.
While each of us will have to react in a way that we think is correct to those who try and pull us down–the haters, it’s good to remember that the “hater” who tries to pull you down may be that way because of the way they (and perhaps even you) have been brought up and the society you and/or they live in.
Being a problem solver is to remember that in a situation of conflict and stress it’s hard to think in a logical way and listening to a person who is a hater, or the people that have some relationship to them will not help.
Being a problem solver is to remember the best time to think is when you feel at peace and relaxed.
Amazingly brief periods of peace and relaxation can occur even in the most troubled times–use that time if you find you have the energy to do so, because problem solving can use a lot of energy occasionally, especially if it involves a lot of complex thinking.
Being a problem solver is about asking questions like:
- why are the the haters like that?
- is there a way to prevent someone from becoming a hater?
- is there a way to prevent haters (who probably will always be a part of a society under the current system) from pulling down innocent people like yourself.
- not everyone is a hater, there are other problem solvers out there like Jacque Fresco, who work on the same problems you might face and might have the answers you are looking for.
Problem solving may not solve the current problem or future issues of haters trying to bring you down, but it can let you feel that you are helping others like yourself and possibly reducing the chance that unsocial behavior that haters exhibit can be prevented by early intervention in peoples lives before it becomes a ingrained behavior and/or belief for example.
You can tell when you are conflict thinking rather then problem solving when you view the hater as the enemy or opposition. Such thinking may lead you to actions such as attack or defense. In times when you are stressed, short of time, and there is conflict it is easy to use conflict thinking.
You have to choose what is the right mixture conflict thinking versus problem solving for you; that will allow you to survive in the society you live in.
