Hikaru Utada is apparently a Japanese/American singer, arranger, and producer.
Defining what a music producer is… is a little more difficult because it can have several meanings:
According to flutterscape, Hikaru announced in August 9, 2010 that she was going to take a break from the music scene; and this is confirmed by J-Pop Stop Wiki: ” Utada plans to go on indefinite hiatus following Utada Hikaru SINGLE COLLECTION VOL.2.”
“Utada Hikaru has been deemed the Most Influential Japanese Artist of the past decade (2000-2010) by Japan Times.”
At the time the author didn’t now if or when she will return to the music scene, but because the color blue–which reminds the author of Miku–this video of her music was chosen: Hikaru Utada – Blue (english version) & the singer isn’t Utada–it seems that there is no official song out on the internet, which actually sounds nicer when sung in Japanese.
When the author checked Utada Hikaru’s twitter stream in June 2012 she was writing a song and felt very amused by a Japanese website. The author published an article with a sample of music from that site… but oh… forgot what article it was… lol… \(`(エ)´)/
Upon returning from her hiatus, all her future releases will be under the name Utada Hikaru regardless of the country of release
